I had to come up with a minute and a half audio slideshow for one of my college courses, so I did something interesting to me - a video on how I create art.  I had started the project over Thanksgiving break and finished the video this week.  Click Here to View

The wolf was one I had seen in the Bear and Wolf Recovery Center.

In going back to school this fall I have not had much opportunity to paint.  I finally was able to carve out some time and indulge myself.  Out For A Walk is the result.
Out For A Walk is a 5 x 7 oil on canvas board.

Well here is what it looks like.  It was quite the journey.
I will be entering this in the Eastern Idaho State Fair this year.

There is a fun little hike not far from where I live that has some great views.  This is a small area at the beginning of the walk.
It is up for sale on Daily Paintworks.  Click Here to Buy

The original is a 5 x 7 oil on canvas board.
This is one of the many bison that was close to the road on my trip into Yellowstone National Park in 2015.  This bison's mane of hair actually fell over in the way I painted it.  My son said he looked like Elvis, so I called him Elvis the Bison.

The original sold, but prints, canvases, and more are available through my Website

Sunday, July 19, 2015

I have been busy of late with my two jobs and getting ready for the Eagle Rock Art Guild's Side Walk Art Festival, so I have not spent as much time promoting my new paintings as I should (besides which, it has been rainy and overcast - not the best for taking pictures).  I have managed to get a few new works done, and here is a quick snapshot with some of my pieces.  If anyone would like to see and visit with me during the show, I will have my booth by the river in Idaho Falls, Idaho on Saturday July 25th.
Hopefully by Monday, I will have good images of my newest paintings.

On the same trip with my cousin to Yellowstone National Park and the Grizzly and Wolk Discovery Center that we saw the wolves (one of which I painted so far), we saw saw bears.  Intermittent rain showers did not keep these bears from playing in their pool.  They reminded me of my brothers.

The painting is a 5 x 7 oil on canvas board.  I sold this painting by auction on Daily Paintworks.  I will also have prints, cards, and more through my website soon.

My friend, Connie Cooley, has sponsored me for the Eagle Rock Art Guild's summer Sidewalk Art Show this year.  I made her a card to say "Thank You".  This is what it looks like.
I will be at the Sidewalk Art Show on July 25th along the Snake River in Idaho Falls.  Come see me there.

Well, here is my image of Rodeo Royalty - nine handsome brutes.  I will be adding it to my Fine Art America website for those of you interested in getting a print.

Friday, May 29, 2015

Well here is number nine.  Now the paintings are to the sit and look stage where I decide if I need to tweak any of them.  I will work on the frame once I get a hold of some lumber.

Wednesday, May 27, 2015

I worked on the eighth bull today.  Here is what he looks like.

Tuesday, May 26, 2015

Here is another one.  That means I have two more to do, then I can work on the frame.

I took a break from painting bulls and did a cat.  She was a neighborhood cat that my husband called QT because she was such a cutie.  She was later adopted by a lady down the street.

I stared a new project when school got out.  I am about half-way through.  When I went to a rodeo last year (2014) I was allowed to go "behind the scenes" and take some photos.  I found the bulls placidly laying around or milling about.  The contrast of how they behaved now vs later was amazing.  I got some great reference photos for the project I am working on now (although I did not plan on doing it till I laid out all my pictures).  I am painting nine different bulls and then building a single frame for all of them (more on that when the time comes).  Anyway here is my progress so far.  I hope the four I have completed are easy to spot.

Monday, May 18, 2015

I just started a gallery on Daily Paintworks.  I put my painting Big, Bold, and Beautiful up for auction.  We will see how it goes.  Check it out.   Visit the page at Daily Paintworks

Trying my hand at blogging

Let's see how this goes.  I will post some older paintings and some newer ones as time see fit.  I hope to be able to get into the painting daily movement.
